CASA CENTER FOR POSITIVE SOCIAL CHANGE
I have had the honor of being the CEO/President at Casa Center for Positive Social Change (Casa) since 1988. Casa’s original mission was to provide crisis and counseling for victims of abuse; primarily sexual abuse. Over the past 20 years Casa has evolved into its current mission, which is to teach prevention education programs throughout the Valley in schools and other organizations. We teach educators students and their parents Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills, which is the basis to our bullying prevention program, sexual abuse prevention program and teen dating violence prevention programs.
Integrating EQ throughout Arizona substantially increases children, teen’s and adult’s ability
to reach their fullest potential. My vision for the future of Arizona is to lead a movement to promote awareness and the value of emotional intelligence (EQ) and to lead efforts to integrate EQ into all aspects of Arizona education and communities. Casa has been the Arizona leader for over 40 years in addressing child abuse, relationship violence and bullying. As a result, we are convinced that the integration of EQ is the solution to decrease bullying, meanness, abuse and violence.
President + CEO
Casa was originally an acronym for Center Against Sexual Assault founded in 1973. We incorporated in Arizona in 1976 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. In 2012, Casa evolved to Casa Center for Positive Social Change and embraced our new tagline, Positively Powerful. To date, we have proudly served over 1,000,000 individuals helping them live healthy, happier lives.
