Our 3rd Annual BrighterHearts. KinderMinds. Spring Soiree fundraising event was held Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the beautiful Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch. The festivities began at 5:30pm with a silent auction, delightful wines, scrumptious heavy hors d'oeuvres and light supper on the Arizona Lawn, followed by a dynamic program in the main ballroom about the life-changing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills Casa teaches in schools.
We bestowed the Champions of Compassion Award to Benée Hilton-Spiegel and Michael Barnard & Vincent VanVleet. Benée Hilton-Spiegel is known and deeply respected for her work with Cortney's Place and the Jewish Community Foundation. Michael Barnard is currently entering his 19th season as Phoenix Theatre’s Producing Artistic Director. Vincent is celebrating his 20th anniversary season with Phoenix Theatre as Managing Director where he is proud to have stewarded over 250 productions to the stage. The Champion of Compassion Award is given in honor and tribute for exemplary leadership and philanthropic support for Casa's mission.
The evening continued under the stars with more light bites, dessert and live entertainment. The Brighter Hearts. Kinder Minds. committee plan welcomed 350 community leaders.
